Singer/Songwriter Henry Bachorski keeps it real and reminds us of life's little joys

“When asked how I am, I say, ‘I love and I am loved.’ I think it best describes me.”

Tip your hats and join us as we welcome Henry Bachorski to The MIC MVMT! Another act in the lineup at this Saturday’s Indie Rock-fest, Henry is a singer-songwriter father of three who is returning to his lifelong passion and sharing it with us here in Pittsburgh.

Wielding a warm, original sound, Henry B.’s music gives a taste of home that’s unquestionably authentic and passionate. Indie musicians like Henry keep the heart in their art, their love of music palpable in every lyric. His laid-back, acoustic vibe invites listeners to a stripped-down, raw performance that’s all about the music. Henry’s set provides a beautiful, unique contrast to many of the other acts at this weekend’s show at Cattivo, so you won’t want to miss any of it! In the meantime, let’s learn a bit about Henry Bachorski.

Quick little intro about yourself, and your origin story?

“I am a songwriter. Most of what I do is solo, but I have helpers here and there.”

What do you love most about being an indie artist?

“Being independent to me means I can write what I want.  Nobody is telling me to ‘play the hits.’”

What are some of your struggles as an indie musician?

“The downside is that independent artist don’t have backing when it comes to booking. Too many play for the exposure, which cuts into the next band’s ability to negotiate a fair price.”

Any advice for up-and-coming indie bands who admire and want to be like you?

“Don’t admire or want to be like me. If that was the case we’d all sound like the Beatles.

“When asked the secret, I say you must know who you are and where you stand. That’s how I walk through life.”

Favorite food spots in PGH?

“I really like breakfast so…………Coca Café or Geppetto Café.”

Craziest/funniest concert/tour story?

"I got nothing."

Anything else you want to add? Go ham! Give us anything cool you want to share.

“I host an open stage and I think Pittsburgh is bubbling with great talent right now.”

Make sure you visit Henrybachorski.com to get to know the man and his music, and stay up to date on all of his performances this summer! I listened to his tracks while writing this article, and I am honestly inspired. The world could always use more love.
