Wink Styling is a premier personal styling service in Pittsburgh. They help you look your absolute best for upcoming events, shop with you, and can help you find the perfect outfit online without you ever having to leave your house! They offer an abundance of services, which include personal and virtual shopping, closet editing and refreshing, photoshoot styling, bridal party styling and makeup, and makeup.

Quick little intro about yourselves, and your origin story?

Wink Styling was created and founded by Angela DeCario. Angela has been working in the fashion industry since 2001. She received her degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2005, and started Wink Styling in 2015.Angela has always been inspired by the art of fashion and its many different facets. Through her love of fashion, she found herself working for many years in the retail and visual merchandising sectors. That experience led to her passion and talent for styling, and although it was a long journey, years in the making, Wink Styling was born.  It was a concept that started from Angela's mantra that "Life is a runway... Strut it styled!", and grew to be her platform to share the beauty of fashion: trends, styles, beauty, industry events, and more.

Angela's focus for every client is to encourage them to explore fashion and discover their own unique style. In 2016, Jodie Ball joined the Wink family as head of Marketing and Technology. She keeps Wink running on all cylinders, focusing on web content and social media. Together Jodie and Angela have set to grow Wink Styling into a national brand one small step at a time.  In 2017 they added the Lash and Beauty Boutique to tap into Angela's love of all things Beauty related with the focus of "enhancing your gorgeous" one client at a time.

What do you love the most about your creative career?

The ability to spend everyday working in an industry we love, helping to change people’s lives through beauty services and personal styling. The opportunities to do makeup for clients events, photoshoots, album covers, and for anything else has been a blessing. To share in our client’s special moments and to enjoy the look of true pleasure when a client looks into the mirror and absolutely loves who is looking back at them.  

What are some of your struggles as a creative, and how do you hope the IMBM can help you?

I feel we have already received a lot of help from our connection with MIC, including freelance opportunities, as well as the networking that the MIC community has brought. Thank you!

Any advice for up-and-comers who want to do what you do?

Our advice is simple - follow your passion and never give up on your dreams. No matter how long it takes, make sure you realize all the important things in your life.  If something fails it’s because you weren't able to put 100% into your dream. Never give up and always give all that you have before you decide to walk away.

What is your definition of success?

Success comes in different forms and different ways, but mostly it is that you did all you could to obtain the life you dream of having.
